TalkBack / Re: Devil's Third Video Confirms Japanese Release Date
« on: June 10, 2015, 09:56:20 PM »
I've been looking forward to this game since the footage from E3 2014.  The online multiplayer looks pretty good.  It will be nice to have this addition to the Wii U library after hearing the disappointing news that COD: Black Ops III is not releasing on Wii U.

No idea what the forum just did there.  Anyway, was going to mention that it will be nice to have this in the Wii U library after hearing the disappointing news that COD: Black Ops III will not be released on Wii U.

I hope we can see all the predictions once the contest is over.

Did Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for Wii U have voice chat? Doesn't Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate have it? I thought one of them has it, otherwise why would Turtle Beach make a headset for the Wii U.
The following games support Voice Chat (may be others, but I am not aware of them)

Trine 2
Mass Effect 3
Ninja Gaiden III
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Assassins Creed III
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Mario Kart 8 (Lobby w/friends only)
Smash Bros (Lobby w/friends only)

This is disappointing news about Splatoon.  It really should be a standard feature set to include voice chat compatibility in all online multi-player Wii U games.  It should be up to the consumer to choose whether to enable or disable such functionality.  If all games were voice chat compatible then concerned parents could administer the usage of such features with the built-in Wii U Parental Controls.  Parental Controls exist for a reason and apparently Nintendo doesn't even know they exist.  Nintendo needs to realize that children are not the only consumer of their products and when they continue to play parent, they continue to impact the adults.

The game is not that bad.  I haven't played this game since it's original release, but I recall enjoying it very much.  If this gets a release on Wii U Virtual Console, I will probably download it.  The music was also pretty good.  I have the soundtrack and my favorite tracks are Introduction, Prologue, Dungeon Main Theme, Tower of Science/Execution/Sorcery, and the ending credits.

It's much more versatile than the way it's done on 3DS, but I still wish there were a few more color options. I had to use one color more than once, which really bugged me.
Hopefully menu icon/backround theme support is on the way.

I do expect that such an update will happen eventually, but I also advise you to give up hope for Wii U folders as soon as possible in order to expedite the process.

Yoshi-EGGS! Wow! You are amazing! System Update 5.2.0 U has been released and includes support for FOLDERS!

What happened to the highlight reel of favorite moments from show's history for those that contributed to the Archivist tier?

Also, are there chapters?  I downloaded iTunes version and you usually break out segments into chapters.

After the disaster of Brawl online lag and disconnects, I was hoping they would work to resolve those issues in the next title.  Did anyone catch the following statements in the Nintendo Smash Direct?

"The Wii U will have online multiplayer as Brawl did... The 3DS version will have online multiplayer as well. Of course, if your connection isn't smooth you won't be able to play comfortably, so I hope you will find a way to connect at a fast access point to get ready for online.  For optimal results on the Wii U version, I recommend using a wired connection.  It's naturally more stable than wireless."  They even threw in a image of a Wii LAN adapter.

Is online going to be another Brawl disaster?  If customers experience Brawl levels of lag, is Nintendo going to tell us to purchase a Wii LAN adapter?  /facepalm

I hope I am wrong, they really did fix their past Brawl online mistakes, and there won't be anything to worry about.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Call of Duty 2013 (Insert Ghost/Dog joke here)
« on: November 06, 2013, 08:03:34 PM »
I previously purchased a physical copy of COD Black Ops 2 as they failed to offer a digital version on the eShop.  Since then I have gone completely digital.  I would have immediately purchased Ghost, but sadly it's not available on the eShop.

I don't understand what Activision has against releasing the software they publish on the eShop.  There will definitely be some missed Wii U sales due to this.

That's ridiculous to shutdown an entire service.  Is Nintendo going to go a step backwards and pretend the Internet doesn't exist?  What's next, Miiverse gets shutdown?

NWR Feedback / Re: Error 500 Connection is closed
« on: November 02, 2013, 07:45:27 PM »
I had this problem also. I cleared my cookies and active logins, and now they both work.

Oh, and I'm using FireFox.

Thanks for the response and tip!

I thought I had Firefox set to clear everything on exit, but after checking "Settings for Clearing History," cookies and site preferences were unchecked.  After checking those, exiting and launching the browser, I can now get to the main page of the site.  Chrome now works as well after clecking everything in "Clear Browser Data."

Crazy!

Update:  The problem is also happening in Chrome.

Using Firefox or Chrome, I can only get to the site if I use the following URL:
http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php

Any attempts to visit the front page of the website return the errors.

Also, I received the following error when I wasn't even attempting to logon:

Sorry, but you've reached your login attempts threshold. Please wait 30 seconds and try again later.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Deluxe Digital Promotion tally
« on: October 28, 2013, 09:36:34 PM »
I have a launch Wii U Deluxe.  I have gone 100% digital download only since 12/2012 (I had to purchase a physical copy of COD Black Ops 2 as they failed to offer a digital version).  I have downloaded 10 games so far (not including DLC) with prices ranging from $1.50 to $59.  I have earned $35 in eShop credit.  I have purchased games I would not have at full price.  I recently waited for MH3U to go on 50% off sale, applied a $5 credit resulting in a $24 purchase.  Nothing to complain about here.  I am very happy with the Digital Deluxe promotion.

You can also now post screen shots directly to Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr (as you can with 3DS).  From the Wii U browser, visit i.nintendo.net/wiiu

For those trying to post screen shots to imgur.com, use the mobile URL.  The Wii U browser is not fully compatible with the standard site.  Your upload status will be pended "forever".  After 30 minutes of pended uploads, I visited the mobile site and the image uploaded with no issues.

m.imgur.com > click the cloud icon in top right of screen > click device icon > choose your image > click start upload

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Netflix on Wii U
« on: June 27, 2013, 08:35:18 PM »
I think internet in my Wii U had basically died.

Netflix stops loading at 25% and even when it does hit 100%, it just sat on the black loading screen till I hit the home button. I tried the internet channel to post about it. NWR would only load 80% if the page before it just got stuck.
Miiverse even took s long while to load just now add I was young this out on my phone, which is hooked up to the same Wi-Fi as the Wii U.

Well, the occasional black screen and hard lock after launching Netflix is a definite bug that Netflix has not patched yet.  As far as Miiverse, mine takes about 15 seconds to load to the main page and 30 seconds for the activity feed.
