Nintendo better start doing something to boost sales of the Wii. Its still being outsold by the PS3 even with SMG2 out! We were told to wait until SMG2 comes out because then Wii sales will improve. Well, the game is out but the PS3 is still outselling it. So this is bad.

Since when was SMG2 supposed to sell consoles? One could argue that it's not much more than an expansion pack in terms of how it differs from the original (but it's still one of the best games ever made). So how is it supposed to bring in new Wii gamers, when the original already served this function?

Also when you look at the numbers, Wii and PS3 pretty much tied. So either both are doing well, or both are doing poorly. Given Wii's already large install base, I wouldn't call the situation bad unless gamers start throwing away their Wiis.

This is true. SMG2 was never supposed to see consoles no matter how much Nintendo hoped for it. NSMBWii was supposed to sell conoles and it did a pretty decent job I think. 2D Mario is what Japan wants.

Considering that NSMB DS and NSMBWii is still selling bucketloads, that is very possible.

My guess is that they combine it with the next Animal crossing and/or that it becomes the GUI for the 3DS/Wii2.

It already sounds like an Online Social Site, might as well make it the center of Nintendo Online and system interaction.

It's ranked by sales in 2010 and in parenthesis is the WorldWide totals for the games in question.

NSMBW probably sold 8 million in 2010 (but sold a total of 14.7million copies world wide)
MW2 probably sold 6.5 million in 2010 (but sold a total of 14 million copies World Wide)

I don't know about Japan, but I'm sure that people here in America wouldn't be willing to pay for a version of Facebook or Myspace on the DS. Having it come free with 3DS is probably the best way to distribute it.

There are Facebook Apps on iTunes that cost money. I don't know how well they sell, but they exist.
