So Wii sold another 803,000 and STILL no games in the top 10. Something fishy about that.

Funny how Sonys first party stuff is stealing away third party sales, Fallout 3 on PS3 a big dud. PS3 is like GameCube with even more problems. It doesn't just have HIV, it's got syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and severe butt rot.

People are still looking for a Wii and Nintendo cranked out a big shipment to stores this month, Wii is technically the cheapest console (barring the arcade 360) out in the market. And what are you talking about there are 3 Wii titles in the top 10. Fable II deserves less sales IMO, while it's a good game it's disappointing.

On the issue of Wii Music, Miyamoto said in an interview after the Japan release that they're expecting Wii Music to be a harder sell then the other Wii (Insert Name) titles and that they believe it'll take awhile for the game to catch on through word of mouth.

So we'll have to wait a few months to really judge if Wii Music is a success for Nintendo or not.

I purchased wii fit in October and it's been my best gaming purchase since this summer where I got ten or twelve xbox/360/ps2/wii games for $40 at gamestop. Still the game is awesome. Wii play is fun too. That tanks game is a ball. Whatever. In fact, the only game on that list I don't own is Mario kart. I am personally killing hardcore gaming and ruining the market all at once.

   1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (3.5 million, estimated)

Looks like 2008 is the year of the Wii software sales wise.

Now when you compare it to 2007

I love Fable II, so I'm glad it got some nice sales...Wii Music not placing is a bit surprising, though it'll probably be one of those games where you go back and find out it had massive legs (like all of Ninty's games for the most part)...

And so much for Little Big Planet being a system seller...

LBG did what I expected. Decently but nothing spectacular. I just don't think the PS3 audience is very open to games like it.

Wow! So Wii Play was in the top 5 best selling games two years in a Row?! That's frickin' unheard of! Nintendo needs to come out with Wii Play 2, immediately!

If they do they better include a controller.  Wii Play's sales figures are kind of hard to take at face value when it's more of a "buy a controller and get a free tech demo" deal.  Brilliant move by Nintendo though.

It's kind of like when Super Mario Bros is referred to as the "best selling game ever!"  Um, it came with the NES.  Everyone "bought" it, you didn't really have a choice not to.  Wii Sports might end up beating it someday but will that be a true accomplishment?  Not really.  Accomplishment as a console but not as a game.

And if anyone thinks the Wii console sales vs. Wii games sales doesn't really match up keep in mind that the Wii comes with a game so probably a lot of people aren't going to buy a game with their purchase.  They might wait a few months and that would throw the sales figures out of whack.  With the other consoles a console sale and some sort of game sale are likely going to be hand-in-hand.

I thought I saw ~8 million being kicked around a few weeks ago.  Granted, that was worldwide, but considering it's only sold a couple hundred thousand copies in Japan, I find it hard to believe the game sold 5 million copies in Europe.  What gives?

Wii Play is my sister's favourite game and I don't mind it either. I guess some people were just disappointed that it wasn't the duck hunt 2 they were hyped for.

The other two consoles come with games these days too (often two!). I guess those are counted as full sales as well.

Is anyone else concerned over the huge number of Wiis Nintendo is shipping this and next month? With so little new games I think they might stop selling out, this could be bad for their momentum. Even if they do all sell out can you imagine the look on third parties faces when the NPD comes in and shows this

Wii - 3 million
Wii Fit - 1 million
Mario Kart - 500,000
Wii Play - 500,000
Other Games Combined - 4

Not to mention consumers. Or will all these new adopters just play Wii Sports and Zelda like we all did two years ago and be happy?

However if they do get through this the first part of next year looks amazing and everything will be alright. There's going to be lots of Wiis in homes but after this holiday will people even LOOK for games or just  give up? Sure there's great games both old and new for Wii but they take a lot of effort to find.

Well Mario you and a lot of people on this board have to remember that Nintendo shipped out a bunch of their core titles and big guns earlier this year and we got Metroid,Fire Emblem, Galaxy, Mario Kart, Brawl, Battalion all within 18 months(yes i know some of those are 07 games but im using them for arguments sake). So no one should be surprised that in the fall Nintendo didn't pump out a lot of titles in the fall because they already shipped their big guns earlier this year.

True, some third parties are stepping up to the plate and providing Wii owners with awesome content. Hell I own more 3rd party games vs Nintendo games on Wii.
