I think there should be a disclaimer in PGC's rules telling n00bs that they are not responsible for anything that may happen to them as a result of disagreeing with Bill.  It will get them out of a lot of legal trouble.

Hey, AdLeZ! I'm sure you will really like it here.  For a bit of advice, you should listen to what Berny said in the above post.

Listen to that, and you will be fine here in PGC.

Man, I went back and played Beach Spikers for a few hours last nite: Great game.  The camera and the controls need a little fine-tuning here and there, but they're forgivable.  The way it lets you employ varied and meaningful volley strategy thanks to light/med/strong hits makes it a lot like Mario Tennis, which is a definitely a good thing (the wholly unrealistic and dumbed down hit mechanics of Virtua Tennis makes me vomit).  2-on-2 multiplayer is simply great for a "LOL" time, since it's easy to pick-up and easy to begin thinking strategically in.

The create-a-team/player mode's another good feature that's kept me busy for a while, trying to design the best pair of umm, pigtailed princesses to rule the beach with.  Yeah.

This is a game I thought should've made it to "player's choice" status since the multiplayer is definitely valuable.  I'd rather have this than Agent Under Fire.

o_O TWO serious posts in a row?! I think Pro 666 needs immediate medical attention.

Sorry, never played Soccer Slam. You'll have to wait for someone else to notice that people are posting in here.

Sega Soccer Slam is pretty good. Extremely over-looked. It has some good concepts, just a bit shallow. Pretty fun if you have a bunch of players. It reminds me a lot of Mario Kart 64. Its not very deep, but it has tons of replay value if you have friends to play it with. Jus' FYI.

I'm hopin' they have the Platinum Cube in, so it matches my GBA, but if not, I'm gettin' the black one so it fits in with my Xbox.

I'm also thinking of gettin' a 2nd game, which I'm thinking will be Madden 2003, since I'm a huge football fan (GO RAIDERS!). Any suggestions on some other good games? I'm going next weekend to rent some games to try before I buy.

Yeah dude, I HATE it when my consoles don't match.  Wow, that sure does suck.

1. You're replying to a post more than a year old.

2. I'd want my consoles to match if possible too, it looks better.

Can someone tell what the control schemes in "Metal Arms" and "Freedom Fighters" were like?  Specifically, did they allow:

1)  Left-analog aiming

2)  "Inverted Y-axis" (Pushing UP = "looking down")

?

Is Viewtiful Joe worth a purchase? I mean I have heard a lot about this game and I am really sure i will have a great time with it, but I always have a problem with games I finish the first time, and that is that I dont play that game again to get all the 100% stuff. I know I am not the only one with this problem. I have a few friends that have this problem as well and I am sure some of you have this problem too. Since new games come around we buy them and forget about those games we have in our room, some people even trade them!!! ( Can you believe that trade them!!! OMG, well I did the trade thing one time and guess what the new meaning of trade = rape.) A friend of mine ( who has it but never ever lets people borrow his  games, WTF?, wheres  the love?) tells me the game is great BUT it can be finished on a weekend, althought i heard its really hard. So he told me to rent it. What do you guys think? Is VJ worth a buy or a rent? And what other games u think are worth a buy/rent?

My sister likes it, which probably means it's a good game, considering she's a freaking critic...(Damn critics..BAH!)  I don't know how far she is in the game, but she says she skipped over Kid mode(I assume that's easy ) and went straight for Adult, and now she's having a tough time...Of course, she plays videogames very rarely, so it's hard to judge just what is easy and what is not...

So go ahead and rent it first...Which is what you should do with all games you aren't sure you want anyway...

if you like old school side scrolling action games, then this is the game for you. (but ofcourse VJ is way cooler and advance than that...)

I just love how Capcom made the graphic / movement in Viewtiful Joe, beautiful!
a bit tough when it get to the last boss. there's a few new character and harder mode become available once you beat the game.

I don't know about Freedom Fighters but the contol scheme in Metal Arms has all the movement on the left Thumbstick and turning and looking up and down on the right one. You can't change any of that, so no theres no left analog aiming. But yes, you can have the controls inverted. (I was a little pissed that there weren't different contols schemes to pick from, because i prefer walking and turning on the left and strafeing and looking on the right, but you kinda get used to it. )

I see, thanks.  That's the same case with Hitman 2 (move w/ left, aim w/ right), and they couldn't be changed.  Drove me nuts, since I'm much more proficient with left-aiming thanks to Perfect Dark and the bow/slingshot in Ocarina of Time.  It feels next to impossible to play when I use right-aiming, kinda like the whole "dominant eye" "dominant" arm" differences.  It's like, "Here, now write in cursive using your opposite hand" -- WTF.  The fact that the C-stick isn't designed for such a high degree of precision just makes things works (YOU DEVELOPERS WITH YOUR SINGLE SIDED MINDED DESIGN WAYS FRUSTRATE ME, JUST AS YOUR GAMES DID.  But I love you Free Radical).  As a result, I stopped playing Hitman 2 months ago after going thru only 4 missions.

I've come to the sad conclusion that I've lost any interest in Metal Arms.

Meh. I was thinking about getting Metal Arms but I guess I'll probably have to pass it up because of the control scheme, too.  I have XIII and tried for many, many days to get used to the "classic" controls but it just drove me nuts.

Does anybody know if Red Faction 2 has adjustable controls? I'm looking for another FPS (with good multiplayer) besides XIII but I'm not sure which one to get. Geist is the only one that catches my eye but there's little gameplay info out there plus the release date is still up in the air...

Do you have TimeSplitters 2?  Because that's easily the best FPS this gen in terms of multiplayer...
