Ah, thanks. Would it be possible to get a shot of it with the case open, to see the inside and the manual?

Case (Opened):

Disc (Back):

(I apologize for the white clothes hangers reflecting in the image. The disc is in perfect condition.)

Case (Back):

(The sticker on the left of the box is something I peeled from the back of the case; originally covering the UPC. I asked a local GameStop buddy of mine what the letter "R" meant. He claims it normally means that the item has been returned from either "Refurbishment" or sent back from the warehouse after being properly inspected.

Thanks mate. It does have the appearance of an official reprinting, but that doesn't sound like something Nintendo would do... I have a feeling something shady is going on here, but I don't have the means to get to the bottom of it. Maybe someone else will...

Hey guys,

Thanks for keeping the conversation going.  Sorry for my silence.

I can second @Loverde now.  I received a copy that looked exactly like that.

I took it back as soon as I got it because I wound up getting a complete, Like New edition for $85.  I missed out on the coupon codes, but it was worth the extra bucks to get the whole thing for me.  That said, the GameStop copy was excellent if I were to have not cared about the extra goodies.  The disc certainly looked brand spanking new.  For that matter, so did the manual and case.  Certainly an interesting situation...

Thanks for posting pictures, @Loverde.  If anyone wants to know what mine looked like, see those pictures.  Carbon copy.

Interestingly enough; GameStop.com is now selling Metroid Prime ("Used") for $69.99 and Xenoblade Chronicles "Used" for $79.99. I don't know if that price applies to "in-store copies" as well, but I thought I'd share it with everyone!

@EJtheK

That's great to hear that you were able to find a "Like New" edition for such a reasonable price! Enjoy the game~ :)

EDIT: Should've added these links for an easy link to the products' page:

Good eye. I wonder if people will stop bitching about it now.

@JLoverde Definitely a good catch.  Thanks for sharing!  Thanks for the good wishes on the game too ... I can't wait to start.  If only my gaming hours weren't so limited these days...

Definitely a wise price cut on the Trilogy though since it doesn't include the whole package.

Been a long time! However, I felt this post was necessary.

Both titles are supposedly $39.99 during Black Friday.

Seeing this thread make me glad I snatched up both of those brand new when I had the chance. $50 for Xenoblade pre-ordered, $20 on newegg.com

It's one of the reason's I still feel the urge to buy games new if I think there is a chance the game could become hard-to-find.
