I'll start the chat thread around 5pm eastern and I'll probably get on around 7pm eastern.

I don't want to set an exact time because of time zones.  Hopefully once the chat thread gets going people will be able to see who's playing.

Also, I hope everyone does their best to add as many of the particpants friend codes as physically possible, even if you clear some out after the night is over.

I never posted my Friend Code in the Official Friend Code thread, so regulars shouldn't assume I'm already in their friend list.

I have a question. If more than 12 people sign up. How will the other people play. Will whoever got 12th place be replaced the next person on the list or will there only be 12 places to sign up.

I'm not expecting everyone to be in the same race with each other the entire night.  I'll be making a chat thread for the evening that I expect to include things like... "I'm starting a private room now, come join me." or "I'm ready to play, let me know when I should join a race."  Things like that.

There is not specific time.  Just hop on whenever you're ready.

I assume the majority of the people will be on early evening/night, but maybe that's a false assumption.

I'll be around from at least 6:00 - 8:00 CST.

My MK Wii code is  0903 3537 4823

Thus far i've added Maxi (Dan), DarthJimmie999, TheFleece, Pale, DmentD, Dasmos, GregLover5000, Vudu, Gylldas, NinGurl, Nintendad, GeneralTraag and EasyCure

I would like to point out 3 great things i've noticed about posting friend codes here and i want to emphasize them to help people get on board the list for joining the Mario Kart competition.

1 - Having a mod keep the -added to- list updated. Its important to people to know if they are added and by who so they can add to their own lists accordingly.

2 - The posting of who you've added so far.  I first noticed that Dan did this, kudos to him.  Also having his Wii console code in his signature is a nice idea and should be a standard on a community site such as this.

3 - And probably the best idea for player connection is posting a direct way of communication via instant messaging.  I first noticed this through DarthJimmie999, kudos to him.  Most if not all of us have access to a computer that will allow us to communicate more effectively. This is important as we are able to eliminate the wonder of "who's added me?" and any other possible confusions.

I'm new to this but i'm a veteran Mario Kart player who claims "I'm the Best"

i might not have time to add everyone but i should have a good chunk of you on my roster already, the day one MKers/regular forum goers atleast.

It's looking like at the latest i'll be on from 10-12 EST, and if that is the case i probably wont bother to add anyone, just jump into the game as is. Take no offense if you don't get added, i really just wanna play and have limited time since i work pretty early and never get enough sleep.

For those that don't get added, don't fret i'll just add you later on and we can set up some online matches some other time. In fact, i'll post my instant messenger username here too so if you see me online, chances are i have some time to play so you can just shoot me an IM

Thanks to everyone who showed up to watch me embarrass myself. That was the first time I'd played anything online on the Wii. (I've wanted to, but I just know the first time I take my kids online, Greg's friend C**tface will show up... I've already met up with "F*** You" and "USA R GAY" (complete with burning flag avatar) on MarioKart DS. Thanks, guys, for screwing it up for the rest of us with kids.)

Anyhoo, it was great meeting up with you lads and a kick to see the Wii's globe/Mii functionality. How cool to see giant NWR Miis stomping whole cities. Peace Through Kart.â„¢

You were Papa-san, right? I was trying to figure that one out when we were playing.

I was the one you played a couple of matches 1-on-1 with, it's actually crazy how much more fun having just a couple more players makes the game (especially when you're playing 1-on-1 with Maxi and he chooses Rainbow Road 3 times in a row  >:().

Funny how there were 7 of us racing, and we were voting for 7 different tracks every single time.

Can't we all just get along?

If you guys ever make me play Mushroom Gorge again, I'll kill you.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Dasmos you kept beating me on Rainbow Road so I just wanted to beat on it.

I had fun last night. In the first run I was alright, but later on in the night I had lost all skill, but I had fun anyway. If no one's deleted me and wants to race again I usually race a lot over the weekends. Also let's never ever play a battle session ever again- those stages are terrible!

Fleece I swear you were out to get me.Every time I was hit I saw you flying by me. Weather it was a Star or a Bullet Bill. I did get you back a few times though.

I hope larger groups are able to participate next time.  I faced a DROUGHT of Blue Shells last night.

Yeah, I think the maximum we had was 8 and that was with the drop-out (Maxi :)).

I personally would have liked to see more staff participate, you know seeing how it was a NWR event.
