So far I used two cards and got:
Super Star Soldier
Bonk's Adventure
Toe Jam & Earl
Super Castlevania
Contra 3: The Alien Wars

The SNES games are the only ones I really like playing...

You know, my only real problem with VC is the trickling of games. I wish there would be at the very least 5 games a week, they don't need to be all AAA titles either, maybe 1 or 2 games that are considered decent. With that said I am still pleased by the VC variety, and have gotten over 8 games for it, just wish they would release more than they are (The service is already better than Xbox Live Arcade, which even with the "new titles" and updated games is lackluster at best.

Ok.  This Monday is VERY IMPRESSIVE for a Virtual Console update.

Contra 3
Comix Zone
Super Mario Kart 64

All of these games are worth downloading.  Contra is one of the most intense Contra games I have played...though the mode 7 levels can make you sick.

Comix Zone is a game that truly excels in style.

Super Mario Kart 64, doesn't need explaining.

Spak, it's "Mario Kart 64", not "Super Mario Kart 64".

I'll have to check, but I believe it's "Contra III: The Alien Wars", not "Contra 3".  EDIT: Yep, I'm right.  No, I'm not going to let up on this, if you only get one out of five of the words correct!  :P

Anyway, I guess that is better than most previous weeks.  I tried a PC version of Comix Zone a while back (at least I think it was a PC version and not an emulated one, though it sure looked little different from how the Genesis version likely would've looked).  I thought it looked neat, but I didn't get far.  It felt a little disorienting and awkward to move around than in other platformers because you're going from comic frame to comic frame.  Does it get better later on, or do you get used to it?

It's Super Probotector: Alien Rebels :P.

I've had a shareware version of Comix Zone but I don't think I ever made it work. I do have the Mega Drive Collection that includes CZ, though.

I found ComixZone to be too tough.  I could play all three of the Streets of Rage games and I couldn't get any farther than the second level...ever... in ComixZone.

I do think I want Contra III though.

If you never played Comix Zone.  Think about moving around like the Cave of Ordeals in TP.  Clear an area move on.

Jon:  Wow.  I didn't know we needed to be anal about titles.

Yes you are right.  And I will give you adding Super to Mario Kart 64 is a waste of time.

However, getting on to me for Contra 3 instead of III is silly...specially when I didn't want to write out Alien Wars well because it takes more space...and time.

I have to find this Cave of Ordeals I haven't played that yet.

MK64 and Contra 3

Heaven... I'm in heaven...
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek

I think the CoO is the dungeon below the part of the Eldin bridge you have to teleport back to its original location. It unlocks fairies at various places but I don't think that's worth much because one place with fairies is enough to fill my bottle. It's good for grinding for rupees if you should ever need to.

You know, Nintendo just won't give us the good VC games, will they?

Did any of you have problems reaching the Wii shop channel this morning?

I've been having problems trying to reach the Shop channel and it just gives me an error message. It's driving me crazy...

Spak don't feel bad I didn't find it or the fishing hole till I was literally at the last time to Hyrule Castle.  (I just couldn't remember where the Poe guys was that tells you about it.)

Ceric:

Thanks.

I wanted to beat the game before Spring session of college started, so I rushed through.  I knew there would be something like what was in Wind Waker in twilight Princess, I just had not found it yet.

Though I thought I did when I went into that cave in Lake Hyrule.

That was an awesome game.

Also I read there is somebody you can talk to that will tell you/mark where to find bugs on the map?  Is that true...that would help alot.

The enemies in the cave of ordeals don't give you rupees.  You also get some fairy tears if you make it all the way through, which are useless because you can eaily get gold chu jelly on the way to death mountain, which has the same effect.

Perhaps my biggest problem with the VC was emphasized today. I went to 3 different retailers and NONE of them had Wii points cards. I'm sorry but it is a tad bit ridiculous when you can't find something that is as cheaply made as the Wii points card!

Last week when I got my Wii my parents found a card by pure luck. All stores were sold out of cards and accessories.

This is insane. People are eating everything Wii up! There weren't even games available!

I was lucky enough to grab one of the cards a few weeks back, pretty much dedicated to Mario 64, and then I'd wait for something else.

Then Sega announced their 5 titles, Streets of Rage the one I was waiting for.

Then Nintendo puts out Mario Kart 64. My resolve was gone, as well as my Wii points....

As a big fan of the SoR franchise, I chose Mario Kart 64 just because A)Its a damn good game B)SoR II was my personal favorite anyway C) Its something that I can get people involved aside from Wii Sports.

It was a good list this week, but its just as I feared, and Windy Man's theory about Nintendo's lack of good games recently comes full circle. I'd bet my right sock that Mario Kart saw the most downloads, leaving Sega's games wanting. I guess you can't win either way. Get a drought, complain about it. Get a good crop, complain about too many choices.

Oh well, guess I better start hunting for cards again...

I got a question, how well does Mario Kart 64 translate on the Wii?

Any improvements in performance, etc?
