Nintendo Gaming / Re: When you play VC games on your HD TV, do you...
« on: March 07, 2008, 02:19:22 AM »
I wonder why Nintendo doesn't give the option to stretch the game to fit the whole screen?

You can make it happen. You just have to go into the Wii System menu and set your widescreen settings to "full screen". ;)

Although, I personally don't know why anyone would want a stretched image. Gross.

it'd be interesting to see a US market or worldwide one.

if the cable setup works fine for your gamecube, then there's no problem with the cable. It must be the N64 itself that's the problem.

Sounds to me like a problem w/ your a/v cables. If you have another Nintendo system around, try using the cables from that system (except the Wii which has a different plug). If you don't have any hanging around, you could probably buy a pair of Gamecube a/v cables (red/white/yellow) to hook up to your RF modulator OR simply a Gamecube RF modulator for cheap at a local store that sells game accessories. You'd definitely find one at a place like GameStop. Plus, if the cables you buy don't work, you can always return them.

It's so lame that they've slowed to 2 per week. They're not going to run out of games, are they?

I don't know from experience. I never figured it out. Sounds like you know you're right, though. :P

Top Hunter sounds pretty cool. The one review on gamefaqs speaks of it favorably. I want to read at least one more review before getting it, though.

Wait, Mega Man 2? Did Mega Man 1 come out in Europe? (Was the cartridge released in Europe?)

If they're going to use something less popular and inexpensive, they might as well just use ogg vorbis format. :B

I couldn't understand what the other two games were. I just know one of them is for TG-16.

I don't think I'd do a secret Santa, b/c I don't trust people on the internet. But I guess if you guys all know and trust each other well enough... good luck.

Question, and forgive me if this has been previously discussed, is there a chance that Wii version might someday let you pay to download more songs or is it just not technically possible at this point?

"The game modes are essentially the same: solo or co-op Career and Quick Play -- and if you have a 360 or PS3, online play. (Ed. note: The Wii version has online play as well.)"

Yeah, once you buy a game, it's forever linked your console.

What they're saying, is you can buy a game for a friend (a game which will be forever linked to their console).

I'm getting the numbers from Brandogg's post. Probably not the most reliable source, but I still think my question is good. If the 360 outsells Wii by a little bit, we can only wonder how things would have panned out if there were enough Wiis on store shelves to fulfill demand.

520,000 to 496,000?

But the Wii is still selling out in America, right? So, if it only sold 496,000 it's because that's all that Nintendo allotted, right? It's possible Nintendo could have outsold MicroSoft if they had enough hardware, but in any case both companies are doing pretty well.

http://vgchartz.com/worldcons.php  (only accurate up to March 2007 so don't look at current consoles)

N64 sold 5.5 million in Japan, 20.63 in the Americas, 32.93 million worldwide

I'm a fan of classic games and newer ones as well. What I'm not a fan of is large amounts of homework and other life responsibilities that take up all my time. If I only have time to play one or two NeoGeo fighters, I just want to play the best.

Thanks for the advice. I'll hold out for better.

I was on the fence about getting GH3, but at that site, I got $15 off and didn't have to pay state sales tax. I saved about $20. I don't really care if I get it a few days later.

Thanks for the pro tip!

I know NeoGeo has a lot of good fighters, but I'm assuming they're going to release the crappier ones first. So, I'll probably wait.
