I haven't gotten a Mario sports title since Mario Golf (I think), but this has totally captured my interest in a very big way.
If only I had money.

Despite being quite a solid sounding game, it's going to get largely ignored here because the only football game people are interested in is Pro Evolution Soccer 5. Nintendo really need to fill this void because Konami have no interest at bringing it to the Cube.

FIFA 06 sells quite well so I guess there's room for more games in the genre, especially for a rather unique take like this one.

Well, this is not a soccer/football sim.  Those who enjoyed Sega Soccer Slam or some of Midway's no-rules hockey games will eat this up.  I'd say it's similar in appeal to Mario Power Tennis, as well, which cared far more about smashing and battling than rules.

Soccer Slam was a multiplayer favorite with me and my friends, so I'm eagerly awaiting Strikers... also interested to see what the full rosters look like.
