This reminds me of a puzzle!
For StreetPass fanatics the world round, one of the biggest motives to pack their 3DS when they hit the town is the possibility of tagging someone with that one last Puzzle Swap piece they need.
There are currently 42 Puzzle Swap panels (43 if you count a Japanese-exclusive variation of one puzzle), and Nintendo seems keen to keep pumping out new panels on a regular basis across the three main gaming regions.
We've put together a handy guide showing the complete list of puzzles available to date, which regions they're in, and how many pieces it'll take to complete each one. But first, a little background info.
The first seven panels were available from the start and only had 15 pieces to collect. From that point on, most puzzles that were added to the list contained special pink pieces that could only be obtained by getting a StreetPass tag from someone who already had that piece, as opposed to spending Play Coins for a chance of obtaining the piece you needed.
Most of the panels showcase a game or a series on 3DS, Wii U, or both. Exceptions to this general rule include the two promotional puzzles released via SpotPass only in Japan: the Haneda Airport's ANA de DS airplane puzzle, and McDonald's Big Mac puzzle.
In almost all the puzzles, the completed picture will show some kind of animated loop that showcases the handheld's 3D effect, and allows players to slightly rotate the image with the Circle Pad. Some puzzles even contain a few little secret details just outside the border of the default camera angle, so it's worth taking a look!
With the release of Smash Bros. for 3DS upon us, it's very likely that there will be at least one more puzzle added within the next few weeks. Until then, you can peruse the list below. Have you completed all the puzzles in your region yet? Are there any games or characters that you'd love to see get the Puzzle Swap treatment? Hit up that Talkback thread below!
Here is the complete global list as of the time of posting. There are potentially spoilers shown below, you have been warned.
