Yooka-Laylee Gameplay Footage and Interview

by Michael Cole and Jared Rosenberg - June 17, 2015, 7:41 am EDT
Discuss in talkback!

Take a look at some new footage from Yooka-Laylee and a interview with members of Playtonic Games.

The blokes from Playtonic Games were kind enough to show us their early prototype of Yooka-Laylee and discuss the game with us.

The tech demo is largely a proof of concept showcasing the game's art style and a simple jungle environment to explore. There is no objective and it is not representative of the final game, but it's still a fun peek into what Playtonic is brewing up. You can check out some footage of the demo below.

After playing around with the build on display, we had a chance to sit down with game writer Andy Robinson and composer Grant Kirkhope. They discussed more of what we can look forward to in the final game, as well as their successful Kickstarter campaign, the collaborative composition process, their thoughts on the Rare Replay announcement, and more! Be sure to watch our interview, which can be found in the video below.

NWR would like to thank Playtonic Games once again for their time.
