We're attempting a Google Hangout. Join us as we talk over the direct live!

We, like most of the Nintendo fans out there, want to talk about Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS. So, join us as we talk about the game and the latest Nintendo Direct live on YouTube.

The cast is Neal Ronaghan, Scott Thompson, Alex Culafi, and Andy Goergen. We're going to be watching the Super Smash Bros. Direct from earlier and give you an audio commentary over it. It's like you're getting a sneak preview of a Connectivity segment! Because you are!

And it's over! Thanks for watching if you did!

Talkback

Apologies for my space audio. On Connectivity this week it will be infinitely better and normal because I recorded it natively there.

Great job guys. I'm working a graveyard shift tonight so it was fun to listen to you guys while I worked.

about the WiiU release date: They are not just maximizing sales of 3DS, but also Nintendo has little or no titles coming on the winter/end of the year for the WiiU, compared to PS4/XBOX One. So everything you guys say applies, AND the fact that they need a game to sell for Christmas...is clear that X is not coming in 2014, at least in the West.

I wouldn't say this has any effect on the likelihood that X comes out this year. X was never going to be the game to fill the pre-Black Friday slot, it's far too niche for that. It's much better suited to the August/September "Metroid slot," and the fact that Smash was pushed back as far as it was makes it seem like Nintendo at least might have something else to put out there, so if anything I'd say this makes X more likely.

I hope you're right about an Aug/Sep date for X, but Nintendo has slotted an RPG or strategy RPG in February the past 2 years with success (Fire Emblem and Bravely Default).  The ONLY game I really want to play for Wii U is X, so I hope it's this year, but I'm skeptical, especially since it doesn't even have a release date in Japan yet.
