To answer the question of "What the heck is Taito doing lately", they've been in the sweet business of Japanese Arcade games, mainly in the form of Groove Coaster, and the NESiCAxLive, which is a multi-game arcade cabinet with online compatibility and is mainly used by Capcom, Arc System Works and SNK for their fighting games (along with a bunch of smaller devs like the Skullgirls team and the Yatagarasu team).
