The future is fast... ONCE MORE!

One of the more surprising announcements was another entry in Shin'en Multimedia's FAST series. The previous two entries brought a lot of great racing action, fantastic graphical styles and a solid amount of content. This new entry brings 1080p, 60fps full speed action to Nintendo's new home console and I couldn't be more excited.

In the newest build for the game, we got to see three tracks that will be available in the final version. The first track, Cameron Crest, sees you racing through a track quite high into the sky. There are easy-to-navigate turns and some weirdly abstract environments to explore. Another track, which I sadly didn't catch the name of, sees you traveling through a diverse jungle environment. What makes this new track so intriguing is that there are constant branching paths, each with different rewards. You may find a boost pad or additional energy for your boost meter. It will be tricky to stay on the perfect route for this one as sharp turns can be considered business like usual.

The final track, New Zendling, has been available in FAST Racing Neo for a while now. As far as I can see, there aren’t any major differences between the Wii U version and the Switch one. It looks slightly smoother on that big HD display, but outside of that, there is nothing truly noteworthy. Noteworthy were the controls as I did play this game with the Joy-Con grip. While it was totally functional, I can't see myself playing this without a Switch Pro Controller.

In general though, FAST RMX is a great entry in a great series. I am pretty much on board with that as the original game was awesome. A new slew of content might entice people to give the game a second shot, and hold them until that eventual F-Zero sequel. Hopefully. Maybe.
