Discuss in talkback!

Judging by the E3 demo, Theatrhythm's sequel is more of the same.

Square Enix had a demo of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call on the show floor, A sequel to the popular 2012 rhythm game also for 3DS, Curtain Call's biggest selling point is its large soundtrack (over 200 according to the representative on the show floor). Only individual songs were available in the demo; two I played were "field" songs, and one was a battle song. I had to tap, drag, and swipe the screen per on-screen prompts timed to the music (or alternatively, use button presses and the analog stick). In the battle song, each character had its own "track", lining up with that character's position on the battle screen, and I had to quickly move amongst these rows on the screen.

In general, I did not perceive anything different from its predecessor during my time with the demo. Granted, my experience with the first game was limited, but the gameplay and art style seemed pretty much the same as what I remembered from the first game. Ultimately, this looks to effectively be a giant level pack. If you'd like more information and opinions on this rhythm game, I encourage you to read our review of the Japanese release from earlier this year, as well as our two reviews of the 2012 game, all of which highly praise this series.
