The Whirl Tour story begins when a group of six band members are kidnapped. As a roadie of this rock band, you must save each one of the band members and discover just why they were captured. There are eight levels where you will travel around on gas, electric and rocket powered scooters around parks, castles and other areas full of active pedestrians and animals. It is possible to crash into various parts of the scenery, breaking windows or knocking over telephone poles and statues to create new surfaces to perform tricks.

The game is centred around action and puzzle solving, and fighting enemies, all while pulling off tricks on the scooters. There are total of seven characters and ten scooters to unlock and customise. The characters can perform over 100 tricks with points being awarded for difficulty and variety.

In addition to the main mode, there are seven others including two-player racing, monster trick, split screen competition, and a co-operative mode.
