I-Ninja

by Ty Shughart - November 20, 2003, 9:59 pm EST

''NEED... TO... KILL... STUFF...''

I-Ninja is cool. And by cool, I mean totally sweet. I-Ninja flips out all the time and chops up guys.

Seriously though, I-Ninja has a wonderfully twisted sense of humor. Sarcastic, violent, and prone to flying into a ninja-fury, you'd swear it was Real Ultimate Power: The Game. Even when receiving instructions from Sensei, you can select 'No' and Ninja will yell "FIND someone who CARES" or something similarly disrespectful, sarcastic, or hilarious. Even if you select yes, you might get shouts of "yeah, WHATEVER." In a Ninja berserker attack, you'll probably hear lines like "ARGGH... NEED... TO... KILL... STUFF...!" Real Ninjas do what they want, whenever they want, including flipping out and killing a whole town if someone drops a spoon or something.

Ninja has a wide assortment of totally awesome moves. Running on walls, wall-jumping, chain swinging, and flipping out and cutting dudes into pieces are of course part of this ninja's repertoire. Check out the throwing stars: they ricochet off walls at high speed for extra ninja insanity. At a full run, Ninja can use his chain to swing around corners super-fast. There's plenty of sequences where Ninja must cling onto a sphere or roll around a barrel under his feet, and more totally random things like manning a turret and blowing up boats, or controlling a giant robot and picking a fight. It's like a bizarre combination of Conker, Super Monkey Ball, and Sonic, and it's totally sweet.

I love the insane ninja attitude and the crazy ninja tricks. If you love ninjas, well, this looks like one of the best ninja games out there.
