It's about time GameCube gets a Rally Racing game!

SCi announces its first game for the Nintendo GameCube

SCi Entertainment Group Plc (SEG), one of Europe’s leading publishers of computer and video games, is pleased to announce today that they will be publishing Rally Championship for Nintendo’s highly anticipated GameCube.

Rally Championship for the GameCube is due for release in the fist half of the 2003 financial year and will follow on from the highly anticipated Playstation 2 version due for release earlier in the year. Both the GameCube and the Playstation 2 games are an extension of the hugely successful and award winning Rally Championship series. The first version was published in 1996 and has gone on to gross over £40 million in sales.

Launched in the USA on 18th November 2001, the Nintendo GameCube recorded sales of 600,000 units in its first 15 days, becoming the fastest selling console ever. Jane Cavanagh, Chief Executive of SCi, said “this announcement confirms SCi’s commitment to fully exploiting its intellectual properties and in persuing all sectors of the gaming market. We are confident that Rally Championship will be a massive success on both the GameCube and Playstation 2 platforms”.
