[AU] Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Biggest Ever First Weekend Nintendo Release - Additional Stock to Relieve Current Shortage

November 15, 2013, 3:33 pm EST

Nintendo Australia announces that within the first weekend of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y hitting shelves 12th October 2013, combined sales exceeded 100,000* units – smashing all previous records for a Nintendo game in Australia and New Zealand. The previous Pokémon release of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version sold a combined total of more than 80,000* units in its first week of sales, and the combined sales of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y exceeded this in the first day alone.

The demand for these highly anticipated titles has meant that some retailers in Australia and New Zealand have been faced with an out-of-stock situation. Nintendo Australia is ensuring that additional stock will be available from this week to ensure consumers are able to begin their adventure as soon as possible.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are also available on Nintendo eShop, where consumers can download exciting Nintendo 3DS download software, Virtual Console and Nintendo DSiWare titles directly to their system.
