Capcom on Monster Hunter 3 Wii Exclusivity Wii

The former PlayStation 3 exclusive made the jump due to the outlook of high development costs.

At E3 last year, Capcom announced that the latest game in its Monster Hunter RPG series, Monster Hunter 3, would be coming to the PlayStation 3. Little was heard of the game since that time.

Fast forward to Nintendo Conference 2007, where we learned that the same Monster Hunter 3 was in fact coming to the Wii, and exclusively at that. There must have been a reason for such a drastic swing in development focus, right?

Last week we were graced with a megaton announcement: Sonic the Hedgehog is in Super Smash Bros. Brawl! Finally, Mario gets the opportunity to beat the inferior mascot into a pulp. Think $250 is too much for a Wii? Too bad! In an interview with Reuters, Nintendo of America’s vice president of marketing, George Harrison, confirmed that “We’ll stay at $249 for the foreseeable future. We are still selling everything we can make." So until Nintendo’s Wii sales start to decline, you’ll still have to shell out $250 for the console.
