Three out of their four recent Wii titles didn't make their money back.
In a candid manner, Marvelous Entertainment stated in a financial presentation that they lost money on three out of four Wii games they published in 2009. The four titles in question were Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Arc Rise Fantasia, Little King's Story, and Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga. The profitable title wasn't specified.

The newest entry in Square Enix's Action RPG series was first announced last week.
First announced for an unnamed platform in last week's issue of Famitsu, Square Enix has released details on the newest entry of Taito's Lufia series. (Square Enix acquired Taito in 2005.) Confirmed as a DS title, Estpolis: The Land Cursed by the Gods (Estpolis is the Japanese title of the franchise known as Lufia in North America), is scheduled for a February 25 Japanese release at a price of 5,980¥.

Gold and platinum members will be in for a real treat.
Nintendo of Japan has announced the new end-of-year rewards for gold and platinum members. Platinum members will get an actual Game and Watch Ball unit. The model will have the Club Nintendo logo on it, as well as the option to turn the sound on or off.
Gold members will receive a new Nintendo 2010 calendar. As with previous calendars, it will include appointment stickers.

The game features the most unique Wii peripheral yet.
Zoink Games has announced their newest Wii title, Wiiwaa, an adventure game with a unique concept. The game will ship with a plush puppet of Wiiwaa, its main character; players then insert the Wii Remote into it control the on-screen character by moving the puppet in place. The focus of gameplay will be on timing and rhythm, as players explore new worlds and engage in various mini-games.

A batch of new Nintendo trademarks indicate new media-centric Wii Channels in Japan.
Nintendo has filed several new trademarks in Japan that indicate several new Wii channels are on the horizon, similar to the video-on-demand channel launched in May called Wii no Ma (translated: Wii's Room). Nintendo has filed more "no Ma" trademarks which translate to Book Room, Music Room, Picture Book Room, Manga Room, and Local Room.

The unique title may see improvements down the road.
In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine UK, Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto hinted that Wii Music may see an enhanced version. While he revealed no specific details, in regards to a possible follow-up title he said, "But like Wii Fit Plus, it's not really a sequel to the original Wii Fit - but we have added some features to improve the overall experience. It's a kind of an enhanced version of the original Wii Fit..."

The first three Phoenix Wright games will be available as WiiWare titles. UPDATE: An official North America release has been confirmed.
The newest issue of Famitsu confirms that Capcom's Phoenix Wright series will be coming to WiiWare.

EA and Harmonix have released a new trailer for the next downloadable Beatles album for The Beatles: Rock Band, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. First released in June of 1967, the album contains hits like "With a Little Help from My Friends", "Getting Better", and "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds".

The WiiWare title brings home the gold as Best Euro Game.
NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits recently won the "Best Euro Game" award at the Dutch Game awards. The game, developed and published by Madrid-based Over the Top Games, has been available on the Wii Shop channel since June. Developed by a team of four, NyxQuest is a side-scrolling platformer steeped in Greek mythology. It has received much critical praise since its release.

Pokemon rumble, Indy jumps into action, and WiiWare demos debut.
This week WiiWare only gets one game, Pokemon Rumble, from Nintendo and Ambrella. Players pit toy Pokemon against each other in a variety of stages. The more Pokemon you defeat, the more will be added to your collection. You can switch between Pokemon at any time during battle, and Club Nintendo members will be able to download a special toy Pokemon to use in their game.
