I guess Sans really IS coming to Smash Bros.

After showcasing the new fighter Banjo-Kazooie, Super Smash Bros. series director Masahiro Sakurai announced that Home Run Contest will be returning to the series in the 5.0.0 update for Ultimate. Sakurai described this mode as "pretty much the final new mode," implying there would not be any more after this.

And it's going to be 2020 in every territory.

We'll be feeling it again in 2020.

Xenoblade Chronicles will receive a definitive edition release on Switch in 2020. The original 2010/11/12 Wii release appears to be a simultaneous worldwide release for the remastered version.

Nintendo announced in today's Direct that SNES games will be coming to the library of games included with Nintendo Switch Online memberships. There will be 20 games available on September 5, with more to come in the future.

One of the Wii U's last games will be receiving an encore

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE: Encore will launch on Switch January 17, 2020. The new version will feature additional songs and new combo techniques in battle, as well as new playable characters and story elements.

Banjo-Kazooie out today, Terry Bogard is coming to Smash Bros. Ultimate, and there's still more to come.

Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard is the latest DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, while Banjo-Kazooie is being released later today.

Banjo-Kazooie will be arrive today following the conclusion of today's Nintendo Direct. Masahiro Sakurai will be providing a demonstration of the character immediately after the Direct.

Blizzard's popular shooter is coming October 15.

Multiplayer first-person shooter Overwatch is coming to the Nintendo Switch next month.

A video showcasing various Overwatch characters was seen in the first trailer of today’s Nintendo Direct. There will be new ways to play, as the trailer showcased new motion control gameplay.

Overwatch will be released on Nintendo Switch on October 15.

In a Nintendo Direct on September 4, 2019, several new floors were unveiled as areas for Luigi to explore: a pirate-themed restaurant, a dance hall, and the Tomb Suites, which boasts a pyramid and mummies inside.

Also, a new mode has been revealed called the Scream Park. This 4v4 party mode puts a team of Luigis and a team of Gooigis against one another to see who can catch the most ghosts, collect the most coins, and break targets.

Nintendo World Report will have wall-to-wall coverage of the presentation.

This week doesn't feature Warren G, Nate Dogg, Dr. Metts or Jon "The Conduit is an 8.5" Lindemann. But it should.

Of games I know I'd play this week we have the Final Fantasy VIII remake, River City Girls, and Root Letter... and that's without having a review game, Astral Chains, or the Black Eagles to deal with right now. The best seller out of the bunch will be future lootbox legislation lynchpin NBA 2K20, however.

This only narrows it down to about 200 fighting game veterans and the Metal Slug dudes.

A copyright slipup from Nintendo of Europe appears to have nailed down the publisher of the Smash Bros character to follow Banjo and Kazooie.

Freelance writer and Source Gaming founder @PushDustin first located a page on Nintendo's European website, which lists the copyright of the character as SNK. For comparison, the same page for Hero lists their copyright as Armor Project, Bird Studio, and SquareEnix.

They're well aware of the competition.

The goose will be loose three weeks from today.

Untitled Goose Game, the long awaited goose simulator from House House, will release on Switch on September 20. It will be a simultaneous worldwide release, with a regular price of US$19.99 or equivalent but a 25% launch discount.

A world where everything is random.

The next project from the studio behind Night in the Woods is coming in a few short weeks.

Overland, the survival adventure where everything from the terrain to the party is random, has been announced for a September 19 release. Players are trying to get across the United States, but the road ahead is completely unknown.

That is an awful lot of platforming.

La Mulana 2 was announced for Switch around this time last year, and now we now it isn't coming alone.

Ahead of PAX West, NIS America have announced that they will be publishing both the original and 2 in one package in early 2020. They will be hosting a PAX panel tomorrow at 7 p.m. Eastern / 4 p.m. Pacific with the game's director Takumi Naramura, which will be streamed on the PAX2 Twitch channel.

Will Aladdin be good, or Genesis?

UPDATE: Nighthawk Interactive announced they will be publishing the game today, with development handled by Digital Eclipse (Mega Man Legacy Collection, SNK 40th Anniversary Collection). The collection will feature the Genesis, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, and Super Game Boy versions of The Lion King, but only the Genesis/GB/SGB versions of Aladdin as published by Virgin Interactive. The Capcom Aladdin SNES game will not be included.

Wait, there's MORE?

In addition to a new game, Yacht Club Games also confirmed new additions to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove.

Accessibility options are front and center: options will be added to independently set the intensity of screen flashes and screen shaking. King of Cards will also feature additional options for colorblind players. Shovel of Hope will be adding an option for gender-neutral pronouns (they/them) on top of the he/him and she/her setting.

They're teaming up with Bomb Chicken developers Nitrome for a procedurally generated game with hints of Mr. Driller and Dig Dug.

Shovel Knight Dig will be Yacht Club Games' next project after the base Shovel Knight concludes later this year.

The digging-focused platformer is a collaboration between the team and Nitrome, who released Bomb Chicken on Switch in 2018. Development started on Shovel Knight Dig last year and while no estimated release window is in sight, it will be playable at PAX West.

Not quite settling it in Smash, but still an acceptable way of making tough decisions.

Trine developers Frozenbyte have gotten even more people involved in their newest game.

Boreal Blade, a multiplayer fighting game, is available now on the eShop along with a demo. The price is US$19.99/C$25.19/€19.99/£17.99.

A largely team based fighting game, Boreal Blade offers a wide variety of combat options for weapons and armor as well as multiple game modes.

The developers of the Braveland trilogy will be bringing their next RPG to Switch in a few weeks.

Ellada have announced Niffelheim for console release including the Switch on September 20. The side scrolling RPG stars a slain viking warrior who has to obtain his soul from the land of Niffelheim in order to ascend to Valhalla.
