If you're living in Canada, you can expect the Nintendo DS to be in your area pretty soon! Starting November 6, the Too Much Fun Tour will be travelling across Canada, demonstrating the Nintendo DS so that people get a chance to play the launch titles. American Video Graphics summons dated patents in an attempt to swipe money from dozens of hardware and software companies.
In what can only be described as exploitation of digital technology’s earlier years, American Video Graphics is suing Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft in addition to major third party publishers and many PC hardware manufacturers. All together, AVG claims the companies targeted have breached one or more of its 25 relevant patents.

Nintendo has revamped and relaunched their website for the Nintendo DS. The site is no longer just a teaser page. It is now a full-on site, themed after the adventure of playing games on the DS. The site starts in a field, and you can look around and click on various DS icons to learn more about the system. There is also a link to a DS Store Locator which, when updated, will list the locations of stores with DS trial units.

GameStop has stopped taking preorders for the system, and EBGames is likely to follow.
GameSpot reported yesterday that gaming specialty store GameStop has presold its entire launch allocation and is no longer taking preorders for the Nintendo DS.
GameSpot also says EBGames is quickly approaching its limit as well, and will likely stop taking preorders soon.

Bootleg versions of classic NES games are banned from malls near Seattle. Investigation will continue.
In response to a lawsuit filed by Nintendo targeting the sale of counterfeit Nintendo products, judge John C. Coughenour has ordered a temporary ban and an immediate seizure of the infringing merchandise. A preliminary injunction hearing will begin November 4th. Meanwhile, all merchandise sold by the defendants will be delivered to NOA so that any kosher items may be returned.

This 3D engine must been seen to be believed.
When Italian developer Raylight Studios first showed us their BlueRoses 3D engine for Game Boy Advance, we were highly impressed but wanted to see it running on a real game and not just tech demos. The engine would go on to be used in Wing Commander Prophecy and Ozzy and Drix. Raylight granted us a peek at their next title with a lengthy gameplay video of their new game, Smashing Drive for GBA.
