Wii remakes of Klonoa and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat headline the latest week of releases.
Wiimake is the operative word this week as the two biggest profile releases are Bandai Namco's Klonoa, which is a remake of their 1998 PlayStation game, and Nintendo's New Play Control! Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, which is a remake of their 2005 bongo-featuring GameCube game.
This week also sees the release of Majesco's Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian for Wii and DS, 505 Games' Wii-exclusive The Destiny of Zorro, and more.

The second game in the Pokémon franchise is finally getting the Fire Red/Leaf Green treatment.
During last week's Pokémon Sunday, a Japanese television show devoted to coverage of the Pokémon brand, the show ended with a note that the episode scheduled to air the next week, May 10, would have a major announcement. It was strongly hinted that the announcement would be DS remakes of Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver.

Only a few days after announcing that they would be publishing the title, Warner Bros. Interactive has released the debut trailer for their upcoming DS title Scribblenauts. The innovative gameplay is showcased, along with how puzzle-solving is handled with a few movements of the stylus.
Scribblenauts is scheduled to come out in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Sega confirms on their forums that their tennis game will be slightly delayed.
Recently on Sega of America's Community Forums, an assistant community manager confirmed that Virtua Tennis 2009 will be slightly delayed.
"I believe the focus is on polishing up the Wii version, so I'm down for that as it means a better game in the end," said the community manager, who goes by the name of RubyEclipse in the forums. "If I hear and can pass on the exact reasons, I'll let you know."

Nintendo console owners in PAL territories will have to wait until later this year to enjoy the new Ghostbusters videogame.
It was revealed today that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will have exclusive rights to publish Ghostbusters: The Video Game on its original release date of June 19 in Europe and Australia. MCV confirmed that Atari stills plans on publishing the Wii and DS iterations of Ghostbusters in the PAL regions, but that they will unfortunately not arrive until a later, yet to be announced, date.

The sales success bodes well for the future release of Monster Hunter 3, but Wii sales still down.
The week ending April 26 saw the remake of the PlayStation 2 best seller Monster Hunter G come out on the Wii and go straight to the top spot of the Media Create sales charts.
Despite this strong debut, Monster Hunter G is actually just a taste of what's to come for Wii gamers. Capcom has the latest fully-fledged entry in the series, Monster Hunter Tri, set for a summer launch.

Ada Wong, dynamic camera work, and lots of zombies highlight the newest game footage for Capcom's upcoming Resident Evil rail shooter.
Capcom believes that The Darkside Chronicles will feature the best graphics on Wii yet and if the newest trailer from Captivate 2009 is to be believed then they might be right in their belief. The trailer showcases dramatic camera movements, and very detailed characters and environments. This is also the first footage of Ada Wong and Sherry Birkin in Darkside Chronicles since their appearance was confirmed by Famitsu weeks ago.

The latest trailer asks "how can mankind fight a war the enemy has already won?"
While it's being touted as a major online multiplayer title on the Wii, the latest The Conduit trailer showcases the game's storyline. The Drudge have invaded Earth and with their invasion they bring about a web of conspiracy and mystery. As with the other trailers, this one shows even more All-Seeing Eye gameplay and high-end Wii graphics.

Electronic Arts has moved up the release dates of Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 a week so that they will be available on the same day as Wii MotionPlus.
Electronic Arts revealed that their first two MotionPlus compatible games, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis, will now debut on June 8, as opposed to June 15.

Wolverine, robots, horses, and aquariums populate the game releases while Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, and Megadeth are among the bands with new songs for Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2.
With a few more releases than last week, this week has little more going for it than a pair of Wolverine titles and a Monolith Soft game.
On the downloadable side, World Tour gets three more Nirvana tracks while Rock Band 2 gets a Jane's Addiction album, a Megadeth album, and more.

On May 1 Nintendo made the new Wii no Ma channel available for Japanese fans. As we detailed a few days ago, Wii no Ma is a new video download service featuring video and services from various Japanese companies, as well as a DSi option that lets gamers download videos off the Wii channel and play them on their DSi.

Citing NPD data, THQ has claimed the first All Star Cheer Squad as "the best selling cheerleading video game."
Hot on the heels of Namco Bandai's announcement of We Cheer 2, THQ has announced a second title in their own cheerleading Wii franchise, All Star Cheer Squad. However, in a game of PR one-upmanship, THQ has cited NPD US sales data in claiming their first All Star Cheer Squad title as "the best selling cheerleading video game."
