Super Smash Bros. for Wii U slated for this winter.
The upcoming Super Smash Bros. games have received two separate release date windows. Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS will be released this summer. The Wii U version will be released this winter.
This was revealed today in the Nintendo Direct concerning the upcoming games.

Get your groove on, there's plenty of tunes to come!
Super Smash Bros. on Wii U will feature the My Music option previously found in Brawl. Each stage will contain a choice of several relevant music pieces to choose from, and alter the frequency in which particular songs will appear each time you play a specific stage. It is yet to be revealed if collectible CDs with additional music tracks will appear in the game, as was seen in Brawl.

Every character will run at 60 FPS in stereoscopic 3D, but assist trophies and Pokémon can't.
The 3DS version of the new Super Smash Bros. will run at 60 frames per second.
The whole game will run in stereoscopic 3D. Some assist trophies or Pokémon will run at 30 frames per second, but these will not affect the fighters' frame rate of 60 FPS.

Monopolize your Zelda and/or Pokémon fandom.
Southern Hobby Supply has posted listings for new Zelda and Pokémon-based Monopoly games.
Both Monopoly Pokémon Edition and Monopoly Legend of Zelda Edition are set to release August 21, 2014, as reported by the website.
A 550-piece The Legend of Zelda puzzle was also listed, which Hobby Supply lists as releasing a week earlier on August 15. It features various characters from the series and measures 18" x 24".

Mario goes golfing and you become an artist in this month's rewards.
Four new games are available as rewards on Club Nintendo this month.
The games included are Trajectile, Super Mario World, Art Academy: First Semester, and Mario Golf.
A DSiWare title, Trajectile has you bouncing missiles around to solve puzzles. For 200 coins, you can download it on 3DS eShop.

Nintendo's skipping PAX, but at least Nintendo games will be there.
Sydney based developer Nnooo will showcase three games at PAX East this year; one is for 3DS, and another for Wii U.

More and more characters just keep coming.

GameSpy is ceasing hosting of online games on May 31.

The Wii U Deluxe set is available refurbished at a “temporarily reduced” price of $200 at store.nintendo.com. The set includes a refurbished black Wii U Deluxe 32 gigabyte system and a physical copy of Nintendoland.

The Fire Pro Wrestling creator has passed away.
Masato Masuda, best known as the developer of the Fire Pro Wrestling series, has passed away at the age of 48, Suda_51 revealed via Twitter.
Originally developed for the PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16) in 1989, the Fire Pro Wrestling series spanned across a number of systems, including titles for the Super Famicom as well as the Game Boy Advance. The latest release in 2012 was for the Xbox 360.

A Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct is slated to stream this Tuesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT in North America. The Direct will also be hitting other regions simultaneously airing in the UK at 11 p.m. and on April 9 at midnight in Europe, 7 a.m. in Japan, and 8 a.m. in Australia. The focus of this direct will be to provide more details about the upcoming Super Smash Bros. titles for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. No specifics were mentioned.

Monster Hunter Frontier G hasn't performed as well as expected.
Capcom has cut its forecast for net profit in half from 6.8 billion yen (roughly $66.1m) to 3.3 billion yen ($28.9m).
They contribute this cut to “rapid changes taking place in the market for games,” stating that their expectations for Monster Hunter Frontier G and “mobile contents” have been lower than expected.

Retro Studios is not helping with Mario Kart 8, according to a Nintendo representative. The representative did add the caveat "not to [his] knowledge" but also expressed doubt that there was even a chance that Retro Studios helped out.
