Arkedo is looking to start a party on the Wii with a Big Bang.

The latest music game from Harmonix will feature a diverse selection of tunes from The Beatles back catalogue and will launch simultaneously in Europe, North America, New Zealand, and Australia.
MTV Games and Harmonix have revealed that The Beatles: Rock Band will be available for Wii on September 9 2009 in Europe, North America, New Zealand, and Australia. Players will be able to perform music from throughout The Beatles career using guitar, microphone, and drum peripherals.

This week's releases are saturated with baseball and ice sports, while the Wii Rock Band 2 downloadable content is now up to speed with the other versions, and Guitar Hero: World Tour gets a handful of tunes as well.
This week's Wii releases have a running theme: sequels. Sega's Sonic and the Black Knight is the sequel to 2007's Sonic and the Secret Rings, while 2K Games' Major League Baseball 2K9 and Namco Bandai's We Ski and Snowboard are sequels to 2008's MLB 2K8 and We Ski.

Harvest Moon sees some big changes in its WiiWare debut.
The latest issue of Famitsu Weekly reveals a new WiiWare Harvest Moon title by the name of “Bokujou Monogatari Series: Makiba no Omise”, which roughly translates to Harvest Moon Series: Ranch Store.

In addition to a motion-based control scheme, Nintendo's upcoming title will also have classic Punch-Out!! controls using the Wii Remote NES style
Nintendo of America revealed that Punch-Out!! will feature two different control schemes. One scheme will feature motion control and use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, with the former being used for right punches and the latter being used for left punches. The other method, similar to previous Punch-Out!! games, has the Wii Remote on its side, and will use the 1 and 2 buttons for punching.

The classic NES title is being reimagined for Wii by WayForward Technologies.
Amongst the pages of April's Nintendo Power are details on a new title in the A Boy and His Blob series. Developer WayFoward Technologies, who got their feet wet on Wii development while making the recently released WiiWare title LIT, are creating the new A Boy and His Blob, which will be a full-featured Wii retail release this fall.

It looks like EA's next entry in the Dead Space franchise won't use Wii MotionPlus after all. UPDATED!
UPDATE
News outlet IGN confirmed today that the apparent revelation of Dead Space Extraction using Wii MotionPlus was a misunderstanding. While COO John Pleasants mentioned Dead Space: Extraction while discussing the use of WiiMotion Plus, it will not use the new technology. It is still confirmed as a major gameplay element in the upcoming Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Grand Slam Tennis, however. (JL)

According to CEO Brian Farrell, THQ wants "the people who buy Nintendo games…to buy things like de Blob," which has sold over 700,000 units so far.
THQ is very happy with de Blob's success on the Wii, but they aren't content with resting on their laurels. Nintendo's Japanese website reveals a new form factor for the Classic controller that takes it even further in the traditional direction.
The classic controller has always been Nintendo's link to the past, a traditional input setup that's been supported in some Wii games, and necessary for many Virtual Console ones. Nintendo seems to believe that the controller's role is still an important one as their Japanese website has just revealed a new controller, the Classic Controller PRO.
