The publishers of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion have decided to tackle death with their next Switch release.
Graffiti Games have announced that indie adventure Restless Soul will come to Switch on September 1. Developed by new developer Fuz Games, it stars a soul newly arrived in the afterlife that has some unfinished business in the ethereal realm.

With a month until launch day, it's time for some more fresh information.
More details about Splatoon 3 are about to spawn.
A dedicated Splatoon 3 Direct will air on Wednesday (August 10) at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 1500 CET. It will run for approximately 30 minutes.
Although prior Directs have included large Splatoon 3 sections, this is the first time the game has gotten a dedicated show.

I guess you could call this a concentric remake.
One of the worst kept secrets in the industry has finally been made official by Square Enix.
After multiple trademark filings and a listing on the PlayStation store, SE has announced Tactics Ogre: Reborn - a remake of 2010's Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, itself a remake of the 1995 Super Famicom RPG later released on the original PlayStation in North America - will release on November 11, 2022 on Switch.

Considering gas is $7.30 a gallon if the News Editor had a car, is it any wonder North America is down?
The publicly-traded Nintendo released their official financial results for the April to June quarter a few hours ago (the first quarter of the company's fiscal year), with recession fears causing another company to report lower than the same time last year.
All financial indicators reported in yen, a rate of 133.103 yen to 1 US$ is used for comparison only.

In case you missed it - and there's probably one you did.
A second chance for some Tetris 99 themes is being offered starting on Friday.
Nintendo have announced a "Second Chance Maximus Cup" will begin on Friday and run for six days, offering a different Tetris 99 theme each day. Each theme will cost 10 points - earned with a single top 50 finish in the mode.

The next Pokemon presentation is a couple of days away.
A Pokemon Presents will air on Wednesday (August 3) at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 1500 CET. No length has been given for the presentation, though it promises updates on "Pokemon apps and video games, including Pokemon Scarlet and Violet".
This will be the first new official information on Scarlet and Violet in roughly two months.

Nobody tell Marik that he's not going to have a monopoly on an army of Steves.
After an unexpected delay, we finally have a launch date for the delayed Steve and Alex Amiibo in the Smash line.
The blocky duo will launch on September 9 - the same day as Splatoon 3's launch. The two base characters were originally slated to launch alongside the Min-Min Amiibo (the first DLC of Smash Ultimate's second Fighters Pass) but was delayed for unannounced reasons.

The second DLC wave for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is about to take the green flag.
Launching on August 4, the pack will include a brand new course for the series - Sky-High Sundae - that will be added to Mario Kart Tour later. It will be joined in a "Turnip Cup" by Mario Circuit 3 (Super Mario Kart), Kalimari Desert (Mario Kart 64), and Sydney Sprint (Mario Kart Tour).

Clearly the next step after S is to flip it on its side and make it infinite.
A "summer" update for Nintendo Switch Sports is coming soon.
The free update will release July 26/27 (Tuesday night/Wednesday morning) and will include expanded support for the Leg Strap accessory in soccer matches (4v4 and 1v1), plus new volleyball moves. Post-update, volleyball will include new "Slide Attack" and "Rocket Serve" moves.

Although not originally dubbed so, 2022 has ended up with the Summer of Turtles.
Konami's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Cowabunga Collection, the compilation of pre-1995 TMNT games from 8/16 bit systems and arcades, has announced an August 30 release. The date was given in a new trailer released by IGN.

The first update for Mario Strikers: Battle League has added a couple of fan-demanded characters - and in one case, highly demanded.
Launching on July 21 at 9 p.m. ET, the update will add Daisy and Shy Guy as playable characters, new gear ("Knight Gear") with a focus on strength and shooting, and the Desert Ruins stadium.
