It's a beautiful day. Let's stream two.
When asked whether they would hold an Indie World or a Partner Showcase this month, Nintendo apparently said "yes".

Featuring only a minor case of executive overreach.
Things we missed last week: Taito's The Ninja Kids in the Archives, and a late entry for Star Trader (wait, Falcom made a shooter?) in the EggConsole line.
In words I never thought I'd write in this space even after a shocking remake, we have a new entry in the Famicom Detective Club series this... Read more...

Hope Nintendo's ready to forward some copyright infringment lawsuits.
Things we missed last week: Namco's fighting game Knuckle Heads (1993) in the Archives and adventure title Farewell North.
Last week was apparently a holiday week in Japan, so if we want to slow down on the shadowdrops, AI stuff, and "hentai" this week that'd be fine by me. As for relevant things,... Read more...

"Dedicated to a single game" my shiny metal *radio edit*
Previous years have had a single-game Direct in August: although we'll get such a Direct this year, it won't have a game focus at all.
Nintendo has announced a "Nintendo Museum Direct" will air tomorrow at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET / 2300 CET. The ten minute show will feature a tour of the new museum in Kyoto all about Nintendo history ahead of its opening this fall.

There's at least one Kickstarter backer looking to be credited as Jay Obber.
The Eric Moussambani of Switch crowdfunding continues to struggle with launching the game.
Backers were notified today - one week ahead of the latest scheduled release date of August 23 - that the game was delayed due to an unspecified date. The email notification confirmed that although the original code for the game was done, the game had not yet gone through Nintendo's approval process, so no new date was provided.

Luckily there shouldn't be anything around it.
A busy September has added just a bit more whimsy.
Devolver Digital have announced the side scrolling platformer The Plucky Squire will release on September 17 for Switch and other platforms.
The Plucky Squire was announced in 2022 as a collaboration between former Game Freak employee James Turner and Curve Digital founder/Fluidity lead Jonathan Biddle.

No listing in NA as of yet, but there's a chance of Greg being a harbinger.
A game many never expected to be localized looks like it's coming to the West after all, if an Australian eShop listing is any indication.
A listing for Good-Feel's Mameda no Bakeru - a spiritual successor to Konami's Goemon games that were created by the future founders of Good-Feel - has been... Read more...

Arceus save me from this sea of AI generated crap for my birthday, please.
Things we missed last week: Tecmo's Stackers (1995 puzzle game) in the Archives and the standalone versions of classic Doom I and II were combined into a new package (for less money and with better WAD support) at QuakeCon with the standalone versions being discontinued. Note that if you own both (as I did) it's a free download.

A summer vacation, an isekai, and an otome sounds like the setup for a joke. It's not. It's just the tip of the anime spear.
Things we missed last week: World of Goo 2 came out at $29.99 US or equivalent, and Konami's boxing title The Final Round was the Archives release.
The top of the card seems pretty straight forward this week: the big games as featured in the last Indie World show are the double-shot of RPG that... Read more...

The march toward the DS continues, but how much of a boost did Luigi and Mario's remakes provide?
At the close of the Japanese business day today, Nintendo officially revealed their financial results for the April - June quarter - their first of the fiscal year, with a couple of Mario remakes attempting to stem a seemingly inevitable reduction in financial results compared to last year's Tears of the Kingdom/Super Mario Bros movie debut period.
