Who said the GBC sound synth can't churn out some sweet tunes?

The games in the Castlevania series have always been known for their excellent and memorable tunes, and Harmony of Dissonance is no exception. While it's true that the game directs most of the GBA's available power towards graphics rather than music, the composer did an excellent job despite this. After all, some of the best music in video game history was done using the NES's inferior chips.

Madden, Mario Dominate August U.S. Game Sales

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - John Madden and "Mario" -- both roly-poly, both beloved and both featured in blockbuster video games -- dominated game sales charts in August, according to data released on Tuesday.

"Madden NFL 2003," published by Electronic Arts Inc., was the top-selling video game in August, based on units sold, according to data released by market research service NPDFunworld.

Based on the successful summer movie, Universal Interactive's The Scorpion King has just shipped for GameCube and PS2, to coincide with the movie's DVD/VHS release. The game was developed by Point of View Software and combines sword-swinging combat with 3D adventuring gameplay. The Rock, star of the movie, provided voice acting for the game.

THQ Announces Summoner 2 for GameCube

The PS2 role-playing game is headed to GameCube early next year.

While announcing that Summoner 2 had shipped for PS2 today, THQ also confirmed that the game will be released on GameCube in early 2003. GC and GBA titles pop up in the top 10 and Star Fox Adventures receives a medal. Details inside.

Famitsu recently reviewed Star Fox Adventures, which is due out later this week in Japan. The game fared well with Famitsu receiving a gold mark.

In other news, The Legend of Starfy (GBA) and Zoid VS. (GC) takes the second and third spot respectively in the Top 10 sales ranking from September 2 to 8. Super Mario Sunshine slides to the sixth spot behind DC's Ikaruga.
