NINTENDO GAMECUBE is Party Central!

Multi-Player Pandemonium Unleashed In Mario Party 4 For NINTENDO GAMECUBE

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 2002--The world's favorite plumber is wreaking multi-player madness with Mario Party(R) 4 for NINTENDO GAMECUBE(TM).

Up to four players roll the virtual dice and join Nintendo of America Inc.'s favorite bunch of characters to play 50 all-new mini-games and eight new, fully-rendered, 3-D game boards. Mario Party 4 launches its signature Mario mayhem on October 21, 2002.

"Mario Party 4 is the best party in town," says Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America Inc. "Mario Party 4 is the first NINTENDO GAMECUBE version of one of the most popular franchises in video game history. In fact, Mario's record of more than $7 billion in worldwide game sales knows no limitations in demographic or national appeal, and Mario Party 4 is the perfect party game for all ages, as individual handicaps can be set depending on a player's ability."

Players choose their favorite Nintendo video game characters and compete in a number of contests to collect coins in hopes of buying stars and ultimately winning a coveted birthday present. Now that the

party has moved to NINTENDO GAMECUBE, the possibilities are endless -- and so is the fun! Mario dishes up a "party a la mode"

offering a party mode, story mode, mini-game mode, present room, option room, and an extra room. As if those weren't enough choices, the unmatched variety of the all-new games pits one player against three, two against two, each player against each other or four players against a common enemy. Advancing through mini-game trickery, players

can take advantage of the Mini-Giant system, where special mushrooms allow you to grow larger or smaller in order to access different areas and trigger special events. Tag Battle allows players to pair up in

two-man teams and bump, whack, and bang their way through the competition for hidden stars. The frenzied game play, the wide variety of games, the numerous player scenarios and the usual suspects in

Mario's line-up make Mario Party 4 the ultimate party game.
