A few interesting Super Mario Sunshine tidbits

by Billy Berghammer - July 17, 2002, 9:51 am EDT

Louie's got a friend in Hong Kong who's playing Super Mario Sunshine right now. The first bits to hit the web are right here on Planet GameCube! Who woulda thunk it?

Discuss it in Talkback!

After moments of game play from our friends in Hong Kong, we've learned a couple interesting things about Super Mario Sunshine.

- Mario's backpack is made by, not shockingly...Gadd Industries.

- There is an overworld just like in Mario 64 (the castle). Except this time, it's the city that was shown in the first Mario footage revealed at Space World 2001.

- Is there an english option? No. The menus and text are mostly in Japanese. Our source says there's more text than in Luigi's Mansion, but Luigi's Mansion is more cryptic. Basically meaning, if you can handle Luigi's Mansion, you can play this.

That's all we got so far. We'll have more when we get it.
