Electronic Arts Signs 2002 Heisman Trophy Finalist as Spokesman

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 14, 2002: Electronic Arts(TM) (Nasdaq:ERTS) announced today that the company has reached an agreement with former University of Oregon quarterback and top NFL(TM) draft pick Joey Harrington, naming him spokesman for EA SPORTS(TM) NCAA(R) Football 2003.

Harrington, who was the third overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions this year and was a finalist for the 2002 Heisman Memorial Trophy, will appear on the cover of NCAA Football 2003, the latest iteration of the award-winning college football series. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"This has been a very exciting year for me and being on the cover of NCAA Football 2003 is a huge thrill," said Harrington. "I'm a big fan of video games and never imagined I would ever be on the cover of one. EA is known for making the best games and it is an honor that they chose me to be on theirs." Harrington's image will appear on all NCAA Football 2003 packaging and merchandising.

Harrington helped the Oregon Ducks win the 2001 Pacific 10 Conference title and led the team to victory in the Fiesta Bowl in 2002. Harrington, the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year, threw for 2,414 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior, the second-highest single season total in school history.

NCAA Football 2003 relives the intensity, pageantry and spirit of college football and celebrates the loyalty and tradition of college football's storied football programs. NCAA Football 2003 will be available on the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox (TM) video game system from Microsoft and the Nintendo GameCube(TM) in July.
