Thanks to PGC reader Kyle Oraa, we’ve just got our hands on the Japanese commercial for Wave Race Blue Storm, which is set to launch on GameCube on September 14th. Pre-orders for the system have just begun in Japan, and Ninendo is beginning to build the hype which should escalate to a frenzy during its SpaceWorld show next week.

The commercial begins with a giant tidal wave and within seconds, as the camera zooms in closer, you can see that the wave is actually made of cube shapes. Then as the wave splashes over the camera, you see that all the cubes are individual GameCube systems! A narrator is speaking in Japanese breaks in, announcing the system “Nintendo GameCube!” as the camera focuses on the top lid of the system with the system name.

Then a Jet Ski jumps into the screen and several shots of Wave Race Blue Storm begin playing. Fish are seen just under the water in some shots, where in others, water reflects a seaside town. It looks incredible and fast, as racers speed along, doing tricks or crashing through a church window. The four player mode is also glimpsed.

The commercial is 4.91 MB and runs at 30 seconds. To save $$$/bandwidth, we’ll just point you to the commercial. It is worth the download time though, so definitely check it out!
