The big cheese talks about post E3 thoughts, as well as GameCube! When the main man speaks...you bettah listen!

Core Magazine translated an interview that GB Advance magazine had with Minoru Arakawa. Arakawa talks about E3, third party software at launch and more! He's dodging bullets the whole way thru...yet it's a good read. Here's a clip...

GB Advance: What do you think truly distinguishes the GameCube from other consoles?

Arakawa-san: The software has incredible graphics, take a look at the rendering of light and dark in games like Luigi's Mansion and Rogue Squadron, it looks like a movie. On the other hand, we also have games like Pikmin which are totally new concepts. In general, I think GameCube will be set apart from other consoles by its unique software.

GB Advance: What will be the ratio of 3rd party titles to 1st party titles on GameCube?

Arakawa-san: Initially, it will be about 6:3. Naturally when the console first comes out the proportion of Nintendo software will be high. As our licenses get up to speed that ratio will fall, eventually it will be around 8:2.

GB Advance: What's your online strategy for the GameCube in America?

Arakawa-san: We've been involved with the online market for years, particularly in distribution. We've considered trying to get the modem and compatible software ready for launch, however, most other companies are entering into the online market without thinking up a profitable business model. Nintendo's not going to rush into it. In any event, we're expecting a lot from the GameBoy Advance and GameCube this year, and I hope our users are too.
