GameCube is getting pimped in theaters in Japan! Hopefully before Tomb Raider! Early enough so the people are still awake!

According to Famitsu, Japanese theaters are showing quick trailers of GameCube footage....

Overseas magazine Famitsu reports that Nintendo has begun hyping its next-generation GameCube console in Japanese movie theaters. Audiences attending showings of the latest Pokemon feature film are reportedly being treated to a brief preview of the GCN Super Smash Bros. Melee before the cartoon sequel begins.

The SSB Melee footage is quick, but highlights a few Pokemon characters featured in the title, as well as several fight sequences and other famous Nintendo mascots. It's clear that Nintendo aims to capitalize on the popularity of its Pocket Monsters franchise with the tie-in, which could go a very long way to selling GameCube consoles in September.
