Happy Father's Day!!!

by Billy Berghammer - June 17, 2001, 12:26 am EDT

Get your dad a GBA! It's the gift that keeps on giving! Click here for our special Father's Day message!

On behalf of the staff of Planet GameCube, I'd like to wish all the fathers out there world wide a very happy Father's Day!

Some special mentions need to go out to some special Fathers out there....

Justin Nation, our resident Father in more ways than one. We wish a very happy Father's Day to our brother ofa nutha mothah! If it wasn't for him this site would still be programmed with Frontpage 2000! Trust me....be happy this site is the way it is!!! May the family leave you in peace with your GBA! Yes Tammy! LEAVE HIM BE! LET THE BOY PLAY!

To Dick Berghammer, my father, who I would say is this website's biggest fan. He could give a rats ass about video games. He never could understand why I enjoyed them, or "wasted so much damn time on that Nintendo stuff." I will say though, the one game that I know he enjoyed was Breakout for the 2600. That's old school so you just have to respect him for that! Which the Atari 2600 was the first system that I had. It's his fault really that I am a gaming junky. He bought my first serious fix! Thanks Dad!

But regardless, I always had his complete support with our Planet sites. Whether it was clicking on the ads daily to give us that 5 cents in revenue, or clipping out Nintendo news (which we had already posted a week earlier) out of the newspaper and mailing it to me. Also which I have to point out is the fact that the man is the most electronically challenged individual on this planet (no pun intended), but still manages to check out our website daily. And of course he gets on my ass when I'm not updating. Or updating at 4am. Or how about getting a message from him (and my mom) while I was in Japan at Spaceworld that they left with the front desk which read...

Mom is dead say hi. We love you.

Obviously a terrible interpretation written on a piece of hotel note paper that made a priceless souvenier. Makes the setting up us the bomb take a whole new meaning! You get the picture.

If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here, and this site wouldn't be here, and this staff wouldn't be here (at least in this capacity), and Max would be lost somewhere in Ohio. God how scary life would be!

So to make a long story short...Happy Father's Day to all you badass daddies out there! And you children out here...give your dad a GBA and show him you reaaaaaaaaaaally love him!
