Famitsu Unveils Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Wii

The title will be a sequel to the 2007 on-rails shooter, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.

According to the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly, Capcom's newest entry to the Resident Evil series will be called The Darkside Chronicles. The title, an on-rails shooter, will be a continuation of The Umbrella Chronicles.

Players will start the game in the Resident Evil 2 storyline, battling the T-Virus infected local inhabitants of Raccoon City. As in The Umbrella Chronicles, up to two players will be able to defeat the zombie citizens.

Punch-Out!! to Support Classic Control Wii

In addition to a motion-based control scheme, Nintendo's upcoming title will also have classic Punch-Out!! controls using the Wii Remote NES style

Nintendo of America revealed that Punch-Out!! will feature two different control schemes. One scheme will feature motion control and use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, with the former being used for right punches and the latter being used for left punches. The other method, similar to previous Punch-Out!! games, has the Wii Remote on its side, and will use the 1 and 2 buttons for punching.

It looks like EA's next entry in the Dead Space franchise won't use Wii MotionPlus after all. UPDATED!

UPDATE

News outlet IGN confirmed today that the apparent revelation of Dead Space Extraction using Wii MotionPlus was a misunderstanding. While COO John Pleasants mentioned Dead Space: Extraction while discussing the use of WiiMotion Plus, it will not use the new technology. It is still confirmed as a major gameplay element in the upcoming Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Grand Slam Tennis, however. (JL)
