UPDATE FOR POST-E3!
OK we have tons of logos – we want more! Hurry up and get your creations in! We’d like to post the first batch of logos soon… What are you waiting for? There’s plenty of characters to still utilize and now new ones (like Pikmin) to put behind PGC papers! Do you remember PlanetN2000’s old logo? Mario reading a paper? Er, wait, because of copyrights, it actually wasn’t Mario, it was his long lost brother “Timmy.”

Because of PGC’s green color scheme and Luigi’s Mansion being highlighted to introduce the GameCube, we were planning on doing a logo with Luigi reading the paper. We all loved this idea (especially Younger Plumber, a Luigi fanatic) and then thought "hey, why limit it to Luigi?" As much as we dug the idea, all of us were far too busy getting our re-launch together, things just didn’t happen. We still love the idea but now we’re busy preparing for E3 and such, leaving little time for arts & crafts.
Luckily, Ty has found the perfect solution and created this thread in our forum, suggesting that readers make us some logos. Why, it’s a “Photoshop-a-newspaper-reading-game-character Contest” What a great idea!
Back in the day, when Justin Nation and I were back at the 64 Source (a website so trend-setting it closed long before many other web sites) we used to hold “design our logo” competitions where readers would write in and design the site logo. It was a roaring success. Here’s hoping PGC readers are just as artistically inclined…
We know a lot of you have joined our forum to vote in our E3 Video Poll (and we appreciate it!) so check out the “contest” details here. If you haven’t joined the forum yet, it’s quick, painless and free.
TO SUBMIT YOUR LOGO: Post it online somewhere and put the URL . If you do not have anywhere to upload the pic, you may email it to Ty.
Following E3 (and the numerous game announcements set to go down there) we’ll start running the best and most appropriate logos with props to the people who make them.
So what are you waiting for? Start creating!
REMEMBER: We are looking for logos showing game characters reading a "Planet GameCube" or "PGC" newspaper. Anyone can slap a game character next to some text that says "Planet GameCube."
Don't be afraid to get creative! You don't have to use a game character (so Hiroshi Yamauchi, Louie or even your own creations) are fair game, though we would like to have a good collection of game characters.
