New Yamauchi Quote Fun

While some have been wound up through hasty interpretation we'd suggest a more subdued approach...

After taking what could be a major translation liberty for the sake of alarmist interpretation it appears this story may be headed in the wrong direction elsewhere. For those who haven't heard, the industry's favorite source of outrageous quotes and senility jokes has spoken again.

Taking the translation of the new quote offered to this point it could appear that Nintendo President Yamauchi was suggesting that a bad E3 for GameCube could somehow lead to them cancelling the system.

Luckily with the help of our resident Import Editor, Desmond Gaban, we're now providing a more subdued translation of this latest Yamauchi quote:

Yamauchi: "Should the reaction to the new game machine be poor at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, which will take place in Los Angeles from May 11 through May 13, it would be a serious blow to Nintendo, and the company may have to suspend the marketing of the product, the president said."
