Happy Friday the 13th! Editor-in-Chief Max Lake apologies to IGN.
Early this morning, PGC posted screenshots of Thunder Rally that had been posted to our forum and had been leaked all over the Internet. However, these shots were high profile shots for debut tomorrow on IGN Insider, IGN’s new subscription service. By publicizing the leakage we made things even worse for IGN Insider’s debut, something we had not intended to do. We had no right to run the screenshots and should not have done so.
On behalf of Planet GameCube, I apologize to everyone at IGN. Peer and Matt have long encouraged Justin & my endeavors and I would hate to sour what I have always viewed to be mutual respect between websites and talented individuals. OperationN2000 & PlanetN2000 enjoyed our time as IGN affiliates. Though I’ve never gotten to know Fran, everyone else on staff knows him and says he’s awesome and I’ve always been a fan of his work since the Dolphin’s Cove.
Overall, PGC and its staff view IGN as friends and I would hate to think I jeopardized this.
Friday the 13th made me unlucky enough to goof up and we’re working to remove any trace of the screenshots. You can get the shots by subscribing to IGN Insider; we’ve wiped the forums & the poster will be reprimanded. I don’t know what I can do to make amends, though I think I owe the IGN boys a few rounds at E3.
