Xbox technologies just happened to register the trademark before M$... oh what to do now!?

No, it's not Bizarro World. Thanks to Magic Box, we're here to report more problems for X-Box. I don't want to seem like we're "system bashing" here at the Planet, though the state of the competition is relevent to Nintendo. On top of that, with rumors that Nintendo is afraid of Microsoft’s upcoming console, it’s good to point out reasons why it has no reason to be. Check it out:

The XBox trademark conflict may cause Microsoft's X-Box console to miss the launch this fall. A Florida based financial software developer X-Box Technologies has claimed that they have registered the X-Box trademark last March, several months before Microsoft. The CEO of XBox Tech said, "We can't afford to have our business confused with games for kids. Either we find a business solution or we get into a legal battle". Neither Microsoft or X-Box Technologies are planning to give up on the trademark issue. Microsoft said "We're certainly confident about what the outcome will be - we will prevail.”

Another report from Magic Box reports that X-Box is already looking like it could be in trouble when it launches in Japan:

A Japanese Magazine reader survey reported that most gamers are not holding positive impressions on Microsoft's XBox, many seems to think the XBox is just another 3DO machine, and complained that the size of the machine is too bulky to fit with other home electronic product. Furthermore, people seems to think it doesn't make sense to purchase the XBox if you can play the same games, plus exclusive titles on PS2 or GameCube.

Look for an editorial dealing with X-Box in Japan soon, from “new meat” David Trammell. Good thing Bill Gates has tons o' money - sounds like he'll needs it to make X-Box a success!
