A date has been set for Space World 2000, an event destined to go down in history for Nintendophiles everywhere...

Dengeki 64, a Japanese magazine, reports that Spaceworld 2000 will take place August 25-27. During the opening of this grandest of entertainment expo's Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi will address the press at the show's kick off. Most interestingly, and importantly, the Dolphin has been reported to be the main focus of the show (insert joyous feelings here). What about E3 you ask? Well it has been stated that E3 will be serving as a mere teaser for the Spaceworld Dolphin extravaganza. IGN64 serves up what we pretty much already knew...

Japanese magazine Dengeki 64 reports that Nintendo's Spacworld will take place August 25-27 of next year. More interestingly, though, comes the news that company president Hiroshi Yamauchi will address the press with a formal speech at the show's kick off. Popular speculation suggests that the iron-fisted Nintendo executive will, at this time, announce his retirement from the firm.

Dengeki also reports that the focus of the show will be Nintendo's next-generation console, codenamed Dolphin. The company is expected to unveil the hardware in full and present multiple partly playable titles at the event, with the May scheduled Electronics Entertainment Expo serving as a teaser for Spaceworld's Dolphin blowout.

The date has been set. Are you excited yet?
