The Diary Begins

Billy saves lots of money by waiting until he gets to Japan to post this instead of using the airplane phone.

Space World Diary – The Flight

Well I’m currently in the air right now. Somewhere over Canada. Blame CANADA! Hehe. So far so good. Well, at least I’m on my way. The flight was delayed for about an hour and a half…but it’s all good. 9 hours currently left on the flight. 9 long ass hours. I hope I can fall asleep pretty soon.

First off, I have to say that I totally dig international travel. I could easily (with the help of a fat raise at work) get used to this. I haven’t even gotten to Japan yet, and I’m ready to go again. The Nikkei Weekly was handed to me once I got on the plane, which is basically Japan’s “Business Journal", but fortunately in English. Very cool stuff. I don’t know if I can subscribe to this back in the states but I think I’ll try.

They really treat you a lot nicer on an international flight than they do on some other commercial domestic flights. The food’s better, the umbrella drinks are free (werd), and they’ve got in-flight movies. Granted, I had to sit through Mission to Mars (which blows ass), but it beats the hell out of being at work right now. Uh-oh. The Whole 9 yards is up next. Uh…Stewardess? Billy needs a refill. My only complaint is that I’m cramped in my seat. I can barely open my laptop, let alone, play my Gameboy. I just want to play a little Tetris.

One noted difference from the flight to LA for E3 and this flight is that there is more Gameboys. Tons of ‘em. I didn’t get a chance to see what everyone was playing, but they were playing them. Not just GBC’s but the old school Gameboy’s. Granted there are a lot of kids on this plane, but I’ve seen adults on here as well jamming out some Nintendo love.

Well I wish I had some serious breaking news or something but I don’t. Man, I’ve only been on the plane for 4 hours and I’m already getting antsy. In less than 9 hours I will be in the graceland for Nintendophiles everywhere. Japan. The adventure has begun.
