Goodbye Space World!

by Billy Berghammer - August 27, 2000, 3:27 pm EDT

Billy writes up a real tear-jerker!

Yes, Space World went faster than...er...Pokemon Popsicles on a hot Japan day. It was truly a remarkable event! Yes, unfortunately it's all over. Impressions still coming! Adam from TB and I got sucked into the wonderful city of Akikhabra, which is Japan's Electronics capital, and blew a crapload of money on gaming stuff that you can't get in the states. A kid in a candy store perhaps? Talk about a candy store the size of Chicago, and the kid needs a whole lot of Ritalin. Hehe.

Yes, and no 64DD. I spoke to Yasuhiro Minagawa, NCL's PR assistant manager (and Shiggy-San's interpreter), and he said they are currently only available to order online in Japan. BOO! Looks like I gotta find someone that lives here. I will get you Mista DD!

Impressions, video, audio, and a whole lot more await you when I get home. I have a ton of stuff that I will be uploading once I get home and have a faster (and cheaper) connection. Not only that, but the boys at home have a couple things brewing as well. Fear it. :)

Special thanks to Team Sake (Mikey, Adam, and Jeff from Tendo Box), and all the caffinated staffers of PlanetN2000 for making Space World go as well as it did, and make it as much fun as it was. I blame Mikey for not allowing me to update as much as I wanted to.

Granted I didn't get as much online from here as I wanted to (like E3), but you don't get many chances to experience a country or culture like this. If you ever get a chance to visit this beautiful part of the world, I urge you to do so. I definitely plan on coming back. Japan is absolutely incredible.

I guess that about does it from Japan. The coverage continues when I get back in 36 hours. Werd. For PlanetN2000, I'm Billy Berghammer, Broadcasting Live from Japan. Over and out.
