Nintendo have recently made PlanetN2000 aware about their plans for full backwards compatibility for the GBA.

Nintendo have recently made PlanetN2000 aware about their plans for full backwards compatibility for the GBA. Boasting the ability to not only play games exclusive to the Gameboy Advance format the handheld also has the ability to play all Gameboy, Color Gameboy and Virtual Boy software. Nintendo plans to emphasise the backwards compatibility with Virtual Boy software by allowing the Virtual Boy to also play GBA games. Miyamoto expressed great interest in this new feature "We know how bad the Virtual Boy sucked, in fact overlord Yamauchi reminds me of this everyday, 'Shigeru I dont want another Virtual Boy!', he says but with this ability we can now rewrite history and breath new life into the Virtual Boy", (Miyamoto Laughs) "much like how your Superman reversed the rotation of the earth to save Lois Lane."
