Where's that announcement?

Yeah, you're all wondering where this major announcement is. What's the deal huh? Rarenet said last week there would be this big wonderful announcement...yadda yadda. Then it was supposed to be today, or was it yesterday? I forget. Now people are hinting at Thursday. SO WHAT THE HELL IS THE DEAL? IGN had this little story on their site as a teaser. Read on, and I'll speculate later.

It's no big secret that the vast majority of gaming press has gathered in Seattle to bear witness to Rare's latest and possibly greatest game to date, Perfect Dark. With hype building around the event over the last few weeks, many were expecting up-to-the-minute coverage of the title and whatever other goodies Nintendo planned to unveil. You may have noticed, though, that virtually no new information has popped up on the Internet (or otherwise) about the show. There is, of course, a very good reason for this.

(note: this is speculation) Basically what is going on right now in Seattle is a sort of secret Press Preview (Called Nintendo's Gamers' Summit) of a couple of Rare's new N64 big hitters (as well as some other companies) like Perfect Dark, Conkers BFD, and possibly some others. As to my speculation why a lot of sites said they were to have information, and now don't is because they got slapped with non disclosure agreements (NDA). Something must be pretty big for Nintendo to go through all of that trouble. They shut down Rarenet's release last week, etc. Thursday is when IGN (and the rest of the press that was there) gets to spill there guts. Bring it on people! What could it be? Well the speculation in the Forums is running as rampant as a bunch of rabbits in the hot July sun! Hop in there. :) (Damn that was bad) Anyhoo, I'd tell you more but Nintendo's just pulled up and have given me a .....
