As if it weren't bad enough that Billy and his boys at Micro$oft were trying to conquer the console world, now they're out for the handheld market as well?

Could Microsoft being planning a handheld of its own? Sources indicate the company may be doing just that. Although the company is currently concentrating on the development and launch of its X-Box console, it is already considering and contemplating entering the handheld console market as well… And the name “Xboy” is already being thrown around. If/when it happens, the Xboy would be designed to utilize 3D graphics and be superior to Nintendo’s Gameboy Advance. This is an interesting read, especially as goes into why Microsoft may want to take the handheld route, and why they may not. It also points out how Nintendo have the handheld market covered and show how their stock has been helped a great deal by Gameboy systems. With all the great GBA news lately, it’s easy to get excited about upcoming handhelds—and understandable why Mr. Gates & Co. are considering building one of their own.
