A late 2018 game from Ubisoft.

Late next year, the Switch will feature a space exploration game with toys to life elements.

Ubisoft announced Starlink: Battle of Atlas for a fall 2018 release on Switch, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game appears to feature figures that clip onto the Joy-Con grip to expand the arsenal of ships. The producer from Ubisoft's Toronto branch indicated that the items would be available "virtually" as well.

I'm a sucker for arcadey space ships, so I really want this. I hope it's good.

Looks cool, but I'm not too keen on yet another toys-to-life platform. I am interested in the game on it's own though.

Nice to see Ubisoft throwing some more support at Switch beyond the Mario x Rabbids and Just Dance titles!

SURE WOULD BE GREAT IF ONE OF THEIR OTHER TITLES SHOWED TODAY WOULD BE ON SWITCH TOO

Ok sorry back to Starlink; one of the Youtube comments calls it No Man's Skylander which while a good joke is a tiny bit worrying. If I'd ever pick this up I would rather not deal with all those extra plastic toys, so will need to keep an eye on how necessary they turn out to be for the final game. I tried No Man's Sky and while I could see the appeal it takes ages to travel from one planet to the next. Starlink looks more fast-paced though, so that's good imo.

I worry if there is going to be lots of money grabbing with this title but the gameplay itself is nice.

I would like to know more about the toy integration, but Im very interested in this.

Can I play this without toys?

Toys to Life?

Nope.

Yes. They said on-stage that as well as the physical collectibles you can buy "digital versions".

Yes this is SO me. This looks to me like Rogue Squadron + Physical Space Ship Toys! GAH!
