The biggest game with a V Atlus *might* release in North America this year.

After being teased for weeks, it's now official: Etrian Odyssey V is a 3DS title and will release in Japan on August 5.

A full spread will appear in the next issue of Famitsu magazine, but the game will have ten different character classes among four races, including a "hound user" class. The character creation allows for a mix of any class, gender and race (human, elf, dwarf, beastkin).

As of yet, there is no word on when the rest of the world will have a chance to raid the land of Arcadia.

As long as it gets released in North America, I'm in no rush to see this show up.
Still haven't played Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 yet, still expect Untold 3 to happen, and there is also Persona Q sitting on my shelf.

All good games, and I'm excited about V... but time is on my side here.

My body is ready for sweet, sweet localization.

I'm a bit confused about the character customization, though. Will there be portraits for each race within their class? That's a lot of artwork that I would love to see, but it's also a huge undertaking. Since customization is the real draw in this game (at least, for me), I'm super excited to see more, and listen to the soundtrack!

EDIT: Hm, never mind. Apparently classes are unique to races, with basic humans getting the most classes. That's... a bit strange. If you're encouraging customization I would think you would want to have races able to take on any class.

Oh wait, no such thing.
