The 2009 hit can be viewed in stereoscopic 3D on Nintendo's handheld!

Disney's Up is now available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in Japan for 3,240 yen. The movie can be viewed on the system with or without the 3D effect and is available with the Japanese dub. There is currently no word if any other full length movies will be released on the system or if Up will ever see a Western release on the 3DS platform.

That's awesome! I've been waiting for this since the launch of the 3DS

That seems pretty expensive for one movie that works only on 3DS...

For some reason, I thought this was a video game adaptation of the movie that was just now getting a digital release. :D

Agreed.  What's the typical price of buying a new release DVD in Japan?

Surprisingly expensive.

Anyone know how many blocks it consumes?

Sure. Why wouldn't anyone want to spend $30+ on an even more compressed version of a 2 hour movie with way worse screen resolution than your typical phone?

Danny, I thought you were supposed to be on holiday?  :-*

Also, don't you know how much forced-dubbed versions of ENGLISH movies annoys me? It is not "available" with a Japanese dub, it is ONLY available in Japanese!

This news article needs a re-write.

Oh, and happy holidays!  ;D

NWR is always on my mind, even when I'm thousands of miles away from home!

I was looking at digital prices for this movie in Japan. iTunes has it for 2,500 yen while the 3D Blu-Ray is about 3,500 yen or so on Amazon. As cool as this is, the price isn't right. By the way, does anyone know what happened to YouTube's 3D content? Why the hell isn't THAT available on the system?

Something I've been asking for years now. Maybe once Nitnendo invents a youtube like website that can handle 3D images on the internet, and patent it so no one else can do it, then it will happen.
